Title: ‘Sustaining the Peace’ Walk
Location: Monaghan way
Description: We invite you to join members of the Sustainable Peace Network to walk either 14.5 or 7 miles of the Castleblayney-Inneskeen section of the Monaghan Way.
The walk is of moderate difficulty – combining quiet country roads, cross-country trekking, riverside walkways and lakeshore approaches and mixing gentle sloping hill gradients with flat stretches of open countryside. We will start in Castleblayney and finish in Inniskeen, the birthplace of poet Patrick Kavanagh. There will also be the option to walk only a section of this route with transport provided. At the end of the day of walking and talking a hearty meal will be provided.
Cost £10/ 12euro adults and £5/ 6euro for children under 18.
(Children need to be good walkers – capable of at least 7 miles for the ½ walk)
