The Guildhall School of Music & Drama Students’ Union chose the Wilderness Foundation UK as their nominated charity for Re-freshers week earlier this year. We have today received a cheque for £542 for which we are all enormously grateful.
Michael Ball, Student Union President said:
“It is always a pleasure to raise money for good causes such as yours, but this is heightened when one of the students that we represent is passionate and actively involved in its work”
Michael is referring to Ben Gernon, who first came to the attention of the Wilderness Foundation in 2007, when he successfully applied for a Haberdashers’ Overseas Programme Scholarship place, which saw Ben and five other Haberdashers’ students travel to South Africa with us for a wilderness trail programme. Since that first taste of wilderness, Ben has really been bitten by the bug and such is his passion and commitment that he is now Youth Advisor to our Board of Directors. Ben is also a key member of our Youth Steering Group, whose next meeting will be on 8th April.
We would like to thank Ben, Michael and all concerned with this fantastic fundraising effort. Thank you all.
