Do you want to work with children and nature? We are recruiting volunteer youth leaders

We are seeking volunteer youth leaders for our brand new seasonal Children’s Activity Camps.   Get experience, make contacts and work in nature!

We are looking for volunteer Youth Leaders to assist with groups of 8-15 children aged 5-10 years who will help with the delivery of our activity camps taking place during the school holidays.

Main duties include: preparing and carrying out camp activities and group safety.  For example, making sure the group are safe walking to activity locations on site, monitoring group behaviour and ensuring all children are included and involved.   We are offering a range of activities for children including bug hunting, pond dipping, guided nature walks, camp fire songs and shelter building.   These activities will be led by our Education Officer who you will support with delivery.

Location: Chatham Green, Chelmsford, Essex.  CM3 3FE

Who can volunteer?

People aged 18 years or over!  No previous experience is required, however due to the nature of the activities this opportunity would suit people who are interested in children, teaching, the outdoors and nature, sports and activity.

Volunteers will receive safeguarding and role related training and have an induction prior to taking up their duties.

The Wilderness Foundation UK adheres to a Safer Recruitment Policy and all applicants will be required to complete a full application form and have an enhanced DBS Check.

Camp dates

All camps are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Volunteers should ideally be available for the entire week, and you are welcome to do one or as many weeks as you like!

 

Summer Camps

24th to 28th July;

31st July to 4th August;

7th to 11th August;

14th to 18th August;

21st to 25th August

Hallowe’en Camp

23rd to 27th October
