FIVE THINGS

1. Join a conservation organisation

Join an organisation you believe in. Membership often forms the core body of funding for charities, and allows them to make an on-going impact as they can rely on this source. This is a big way of helping.

2. Plant some indigenous plants

The wildlife in your country is designed to live with the plants that belong there naturally. Other plants may help in some cases, but they are often only for aesthetics. Your garden space can make all the difference. See the links page for indigenous plant sources and come to our 2007 concert for a free indigenous seed collection.

3. Seek sustainable products

Energy saving light bulbs. They are cheaper to run too. Recycle. Reuse. Buy clothes in charity shops. Buy local produce. Look in local shops and markets for this, it doesn't have to be more expensive.

4. Choose your holiday carefully

Going abroad to explore another world? Look for holidays that support local community and conservation efforts, and source their resources locally. Phone them up and ask them all about it to be sure. Plant a tree to help with your carbon output.

5. Share your view
You can develop more respect for the natural world in our society by sharing your passion and excitement. Living by example is the best way, but you'll be encouraged by changes you see in those around you if you share how you feel about looking after the planet more, and how important it is to you. We create our culture.
