Planting out native wild flowers for everyone to enjoy

impACT is an environmental action group being run by and involving young people in mid- Essex. Supported by the Wilderness Foundation UK and funded by the Big Lottery Fund, the group run a range of environmental projects and activities across the district, including practical conservation, schools groups, art and design projects and issue based projects on key subjects like Climate Change, Transport, Biodiversity, Local Food, Pollution and Parks and Green Spaces.  impACT also has a significant presence at the Wild Leaders Youth Conference 2009.

If you would like to join in with impACT, either as a committee member or a willing pair of hands, you can come along on your own, or bring a group of friends to any of our workshops and activity days.

impACT members have also taken the message in to school and started their own impACT Clubs.  Schools that already offer their pupils an impACT Club to get involved with are:

  • Rickstones School, Witham
  • Notley High School, Braintree
  • William de Ferrers School, South Woodham Ferrers
  • Notley Green Primary School, Braintree

The objectives of impACT are:

  • To improve Young People’s awareness of environmental issues
  • To create a strong, established and efficient network of young people, leading impACT
  • To encourage Young People to participate in our range of enjoyable activities, such as practical/conservational work, campaigns, educational training and so on.

impACT’s Mission Statement:

impact is a youth-led organisation, dedicated to increasing Young People’s awareness of environmental issues, by encouraging them to learn, protect, preserve and ultimately have a positive impact on the world we live in, starting in the local area.
