Wild Youth is the youth and young professionals division of the Wilderness Foundation UK.
Through our work as a charity, we aim to inspire and motivate young people to become future environmental leaders and advocates for wilderness and wild places. Our youth programmes form the core of this work:
- Youth, School and Cadet trails at home and overseas;
- The Sirius Environmental Scholarship Programme;
- impACT – the youth-led environmental action group for children and young people in mid-Essex;
- The TurnAround Project
We bring all of the participants in our programmes together at the end of each year for the Wild Leaders Youth Conference held in London. Through this forum, our Youth Board is created and then they set their own objectives for the year ahead – identifying the issues and environmental matters that can concern them and developing plans to address them. The Youth Board meets throughout the year around the UK.
We are now pleased to announce the launch of the Wild Youth subsite, providing a new platform for our participants from around the UK to communicate, develop their plans, support one another and feed back on the progress that they are making in their campaigns of awareness and environmental action.
